While cloud is touted for its elasticity and ability to scale, an often ignored area of cloud is cloud service limits: hard and soft limits that Cloud Service Providers impose on resource limits, rate limits, and other limits with cloud usage. Knowledge of these service limits and understanding of usage of service limits is fundamental to avoiding issues with resource creation and sound cloud-native architecture. In this session, we'll dive into the tools that Cloud Providers provide including central management such as AWS Service Quotas. We'll cover examples where Service Limits can cause production application outages or issues. Additionally, we'll dive into misleading Service Limits including tough to manage invisible limits. We'll cover successful management and takeaways to manage these Service Limits successfully.
